Help! I Watched I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

Three showers this morning and I still feel dirty after watching the premiere of NBC’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. I must admit the idea of watching “celebrities” like Heidi and Spencer suffer was intriguing and I also promised a friend I’d give covering the show a go on the blog. However I’m pushing the eject button and getting the hell out of the jungle now. I know a three week commitment pales in comparison to the years of mind numbing TV I’ve consumed over my life, but this show is so bad it hurts. Spencer and Heidi quit twice in the first episode and both times came back. Both near quits felt more staged than The Hills. Any conflict between the contestants was quickly ironed out and their camp looked like one of the resorts the Survivor contestants get to go to when they win reward challenges. Also there was far too much God in my TV last night. Seemed like everyone enjoyed the praying far too much. The final straw was when the group prayed for contestant Patti’s husband who face’s jail time. That husband…Rod Blagojevich. Normally when I write about reality schlock, I warn folks to beware of watching as they’ll likely get sucked in. No worries here folks, I’m guessing you could watch one episode and then move the hell on with no problem. I know I am.

I tried watching, but after 10 minutes I just couldn't stand it. And they really need commentators? I agree - eject.
